“You’ve got to let the music get to you!” a member of the community exclaimed as he showed us his best salsa dance moves. On Wednesday, February 15, during the weekly Incubator Meeting members of the community gathered to learn about the history of salsa dance and try it out for themselves.
Salsa is a popular form of social dance that originated in Puerto Rico and Cuba in 1920. Staff member, Lillian, led the group in several dances, showing each person the correct way to move their feet. There is no wrong way to get yourself moving in the morning and dance certainly showed us that. Members of the community had a great time dancing with each other and showing off their best moves. We enjoyed music selections from Marc Anthony, The Temptations, and Gloria Gaynor.
